Select the split clip from the first video file so it’s highlighted in yellow. If you want to paste one of the split clips into an entirely different video file, start by opening both video files. With the video open, select 'Edit' from the top. Select your video from its location on your Mac. The Cut, Copy, Paste and Delete options open up some different possibilities for video edits. Once QuickTime launches, click 'File' and then 'Open File' from the top menu bar. You can even rearrange the video clips by selecting any clip which will then highlight in yellow. Once again, select “Edit -> Split Clip.”įrom here you can make as many video splits as you would like using either of these options. Click anywhere on the screen to begin recording the entire screen. Alternatively, you can also go to “Edit -> Show Clips” and move the red line around to where you would like to make the split. To show a black circle around your pointer when you click, choose Show Mouse Clicks in Recording. You can now drag the red line to another part of the video clip and again click on “Edit -> Split Clip” to have multiple video clips. Then you will see the toolbar above the preview pane. Hit the Import Media button to add the video that you want to crop into iMovie.

Go to the Projects tab, click Create New, and select Movie to create a new project. A red line will appear showing you that the split worked.ģ. Run the QuickTime alternative from the Applications folder.
Go to “Edit -> Split Clip” from the QuickTime menu bar. Press the Play button and let the video play until you get to a part where you want to start the split.
